You will have to start over and remove all partitions. You didnt overwrite the original, you chose to keep the existing files intact and the system created a new partition.

i think u have only formatted the drive in which xp is present. the file of boot.ini(which will be see after making enablie of see hidden files) has to be modified for not seeing the option. u locate the file boot.ini mostly present in u r C:/ drive. open it with notepad and remove the partiotion name which u donot want to see or if u r new partition is on the top then make the waiting time to be 0 sec save the document and the reboot. it will do the job

the 1st answer is incorrect, you won't be able to circulate domicile windows from one gadget to a various, even via swapping the confusing rigidity. domicile windows is intentionally designed this thank you to steer away from breaches of copyright. the only genuine way would be to run something like Belarc consultant to extract the product code for domicile windows (or seem on the gadget's sticky label). Then, utilising a domicile windows XP setup CD of a similar kind (there are some) you would be able to desire to establish XP on a sparkling gadget and enter your product code. As you're authorized to apply that replica of XP on a minimum of one gadget, and you're scrapping the different this would be completely criminal. little question if i discussed torrent web content and setup CDs some troll would report me, so I won't say that. Make your device restoration DVDs on your computing device earlier doing something, so as which you will easily get your authorized replica of Vista back in case you replace your strategies. in spite of each and every little thing, you have paid for it so do no longer throw it away.
