What a stupid notion many Christians seem to have, believe in god, or be poked in the bum with pitchforks by little red men for ever and ever...Just WHO do you think you'r convincing? It's obviously just a tactic used to scare little children into joining your religion. I think it's terrible to brainwash kids with the threat of eternal torture, just terrible. People tried to do it to me when I was young, which is why I'm so vehmently against Christianity. I am 15 by the way, before you try to say that "in my day things must have been different" or something.

Please don't try to deflect my question by blaming it on "teen rebellion" , It's both extremely irritating and patronising.

Hello: Jesus was, is , and always be the way, the truth, and the light. He always asked if someone wanted the truth, not the hellfire stuff that religions of another colour do. Mind you, that is the result of sin, and death. But Jesus always gave people the choice. Then He helped, or walked away. There is no religious organization on the face of the earth, that represents God's true nature. Ever since the beginning, satan has tried to change the truth that is in our hearts. Let the guidance of the Holy Spirit lead you into all truth. BTW---Hitler was Roman Catholic. Christian vs religions. Two totally different groups. Use the gifts that God gave you. Ignorance makes people lazy, and arrogant.(as well as cursed) Be a blessing to yourself. Know your own heart first. Thank you for your time. Maranatha.

Hell is a holding place for some of the fallen angels. It wasn't intended for man at all! However rebellion against God changed all of that! Man chose a sinful nature instead of a righteous one. Sin isn't allowed in Heaven. God realizes this so He provided a way out from our sinful nature. Acts 2:38 says that we can be forgiven of our sins by baptism in the name of Jesus. When we go down into the water, we are full of sin, and when we come out, we are free from guilt, bad feelings, etc. We walk in newness of life! And when we get the Gift of the Holy Ghost, we speak in an unknown language. It is also the biggest High that lasts for ever! And when all of that happens, we can start to have the relationship with God that He had with Adam before the fall. It is so cool t be able to say that God is my best friend!!

I am SO SORRY that you were so abused by your family. I do want you to know that NOT ALL believers are like those you experienced honey. There is ALSO a Heaven, and they should not have tried to scare you to Heaven. They should have lead you there in love and tenderness.
Hell was not created for mankind, it was created for Satan and his fallen angels.
When Eve ate of the forbidden fruit in the garden of eden, convinced Adam to as well. They sinned. They fell from Grace. This was when God started sending people to hell. When mankind sinned against Him, even when given paradise to live in.
Christians do not use hell as a scare tactic IF they are true Christians. They use HEAVEN to show people God's love and His eternal gift to us of Heaven/His Kingdom.
Yes, some so-called Christians try to use it to scare people, and I am AGAINST that. However I do believe they should tell people about it and allow them to come to their own conclusions, on whether or not they want to live their life in unrepentant sin and go there.
This is CLEARLY a scenario of the glass being either:
Half Full
or
Hald Empty
If you focus on hell, yes you will be very depressed. HOWEVER to live for God is not all hell fire and brimstone. And there is NO little man with a pitchfork, that is a cartoon image of Satan. Satan was the most beautiful angel in Heaven, thus He will decieve many in the Great Tribulation.
I see where you are coming from dear, but what you are doing is focusing all your energy onto the existance of hell and how Christians may or may not use it to scare people. But PLEASE know that NOT ALL believers do such things.
I recall as a child, being raised by ministers, I was not pushed into any belief system. I was not threatened with hell or Satan, I was instead told of Heaven and how if I lived a good life I would get to go there for all eternity. I would see family who had passed on, and friends who died in youth.
So, in my opinion the glass is HALF FULL!
I do hope you can set aside the negative things about the Bible and not try to label all believers as brutish scare tactic & hell terrorists. I am a born-again believer in and follower of God and His Word, and have two sons ages 18 & 20. I never scared them of hell, I merely taught them the Bible exactly as it reads. I let them read it when they were old enough, and they drew their own comclusions and in prayer. My 20 year old son is an ordained minister, my other son is a believer but does not work in a ministry. However I love them both equally, and I also would not hate or deny them if they believed different than I.
If you would like to talk to me, you may email me any time dear. Should you want a friend to talk to that will tell you what the Bible clearly says, and not someone twisted opinion of it. Then you can pray about it and draw your own conclusions. I also do free Bible counseling, should you need a friend to pray with you about and let you vent about your family and any abuse. I felt while reading this that there is something MUCH DEEPER here you are not saying that also has effected you so negatively. It is something to do with your family. I am praying for you sweetie.
Peace & Love 2 U!

What will you do if we're only half right about the afterlife?
Oh, nothing. You'll be dead.
Listen, it's just as terrible for a person to impute motives to others they've never met. You don't know why anyone invented "hell"' or why they used it. So why pretend that you do?
It's also something along the lines of emotional blackmail for you to trot out the "brainwashing of children" line. You live in a free country, so you certainly don't have any credible evidence. The reason you like that line is because it gets attention, not because it's actually happening.
If you'd like to be taken seriously, maybe you should attempt to be a little more fair and reasonable.
(You're lucky I'm in a good mood. Your being 15 years old puts you at risk of me thinking your just the right age to know all about being brainwashed as a child, and I might have a comment about how dumb you have to be to allow it to happen.)

The Bible, God's Inspired Word is true.
I have been a Christian for over 37 years now. I have proved God to be true from experience.
Hell is a very real place.
Make sure you give your life to Jesus, and enjoy the life which He has for you.
For I know the plans I have for you says the Lord
Plans for good and not for evil
Plans to give you a future and a hope.

So you don't believe in Hell and you are wanting to force your disbelief on others, eagered & willing to put down anyone who dares to disagree with you and you are looking for anyone to agree with you.
Since you are being 15 years of age and you are coming on here spouting off against that which you don't understand I dare say that you little one have alot to learn because after reading your details it is quite obvious that you have already been brainwashed by the devil and the ways of this world.
You don't want to believe that Hell is real, well, honey, that is just too bad and I don't mean to burst your pretty little bubble but Hell is real and that is where you and those who think like you are going to end up at after you die if you don't straighten up and get right with God.

A Christian told you that you would be poked in the butt by little red men with pitch forks. I suppose these men would have horns also and be ugly so that they would be easily distinguished from the good people or spirits and that they can make you do things against your will. That is not the Christian belief that is the mass media documentation and the misguided thoughts of people who don't get it....why would anyone follow someone who outwardly looked and acted bad?

In Matthew 23 "more the child of hell" is allegorically more the child of law, since those called hypocrites, fools, vipers, and blind guides therein all notably sat in Moses' seat: Law. Moses' seat is neither up-right nor merciful. All who died under Moses' law died without mercy.

I think survivors of the 2004 Tsunami and Katrina would aptly describe such "Law worketh Wrath" (Romans 4:15) as hell.

As for Christ-ians, true Christ-ians have the mind of "Christ": is "the end of the law": Romans 10:4; Not the mind of "Jesus": "made under the law": Galatians 4:4. Not to mention "false Christs and false prophets shall arise" produce false Christians and false religions of those who do not "take heed" of the fore-warning that "many" shall come, and notably to "deceive", and they shall deceive "many", even the very elect, if possible.
So then, the more you know and grow, the more accountable you become to watch out for law law deceptions, such as resurrection appearances can be deceiving if fore-told false Christs shall arise, and their stated purpose is to seduce and to deceive. Selah.

Yes, it is Horeb-bull to law impute sin and death for the "hell" of it. Christ, even the Jews at Mount Sinai in Arabia said: let not the law be spoken to them again. Yet many deceived by many still do it, lawing (lying), as if "more the child of hell" than the former hypocrites, fools, vipers, and blind guides told "woe": stop it!; Who at least were under the law. But what saith the script-u-are? Ye are not under the law, but under grace... if led of the Spirit. Selah.
The GRACE of our Lord Jesus Christ with you all. Amen.
