Some types can be, but not all. You need expert advice on this one, talk to your doctor and he can arrange genetic counselling

Initially it was thought that before the age of 12 yrs one can't have epileptic seizures but now it has been proved wrong. At any age it can come. It is not a hereditary disease according to what I have been taught & in recent days the knowledge I have gatthered.

Yes,it can be but it is not always.I myself have epilepsy and feared of passing on to my child.I took the time to speak to my doctor as well as hers.My doctor let me know the reasons for my epilepsy and it would not cause probs for her as she ages. You should meet with your doctor as well as your dad's to talk of your fears. You may want to also talk to your dad about what you should be watching out for as far as your health and what he did at your age.He maybe able to tell you what to look for as well as tell you things you yourself don't notice because it's new to you.
