I'd like to hear opinions from current and former military personnel who have been involved in this mission. Anyone else--including myself as a civilian--can NOT possibly understand. That's why I'm asking...Thanks.

Some of the Libs have stated they are Supporting the troops. I am one of those troops in Iraq and I say Bull. The congressional boondoggle last week calling for a "non binding resolution" got nothing but support from the enemy. They were running around and screaming at us " you are going Home your congress does not support you" Thanks to the Dems in congress we really needed that.......................... Real support weakens the enemies resolve they think Hey these guys are serious and will never leave they will capitulate. YES THE support of the Common Person is a real weapon. Thanks to those who make our job easier.

I'm glad the American people support the troops. I know that there are people who don't support the war but still say that they support the troops.

You can't support me and not support what I do. The American public has been mislead, not by the current administration, but by the American media. You guys are told everyday that we dont' belong here, that it's a quagmire, that it's unwinnable, and that we are losing.

All of this is false. You hear about Abu Ghraib, Haditha, and everytime ONE soldier does something wrong. You can count how many incidents have occured like those on two hands. Out of the 1.5 million soldiers we have rotated through here, that's not a bad percentage. There are bad apples in every organization.

These are the things that you are not hearing that are actually going on here...

The media doesn't want you to see these things because it shows that we ARE winning, that we ARE doing good things, and that we ARE making progress with a vast majority of the Iraqi people.

I'm disappointed and embarrassed that the media is portraying our soldiers and their endeavors in such a horrible light.

All we (the military) want is the opportunity to win the peace as we won the war.

I'd be happy to tell you what a friend who was stationed over there told me. He was in the hot zone.

Paraphrased "Myself and others feel proud of what we are doing and what we are accomplishing. How can one come home, feeling that so much has been acomplished, to find that we are almost viewed like the enemy. That it is believed we haven't really done a thing."

I can't imagine what he's going through. The support of your nation is very important when you are fighting for it. I was grounded due to a training accident. I can tell you how disheartening it is to have your fellow Americans protesting you, spitting on you, calling you names - and I wasn't even in the line of danger as my friend was. My friend came home after holding one of his closest friends in his arms as he died - to be told that they hadn't really done anything. That nothing had really changed. That his friend had died for nothing.

Support from your nation is everything when you are in the position of fighting for it and those freedoms. There is a lot of honor in serving to protect your country.

And you what - if you ever want to support a veteran or active duty all you have to do is go up shake their hand and say thank you. That means a lot to all of us - especially to those currently fighting.
