Man, he hasn't gotten shocked yet? There's products you can get to spray on items you don't want your cat to use as a litter pan. Is your cat litter trained? If so, try putting a litter pan in this area.

A cat will go back the places it's already used because the scent is still there. You need to clean up the scent with a good product made just for that purpose. Then you need to figure out why he's peeing on those places.
Is your cat fixed? Male and female cats will mark territory, especially males.
How clean is the litter box? And what kind of litter is in it? Cats are very picky. And is the litter box in a place where the cat can go in private and not be bothered by kids and other pets?
And how many litter boxes do you have? If you have a big house, you need more than one box.
Then buy some of that repellent spray or something else that smells bad to the cat. I used to have a cat that would pee on my potted plants, and he only quit when I put mothballs around the plant. That same cat would pee in shoes or anything that was left on the floor.
Which brings me to.. make sure your cat's healthy. The cat I had that was peeing on everything? I finally took him to the vet to see why he was suddenly doing that..and it turned out that he was very ill with feline leukemia, but wasn't showing symptoms, and I had to have him put down. He was a beautiful flame-tipped Himalaya..and it was awful.

My in-laws have this problem as well. The cat pees on the espresso machine and the toaster. It's awful! What' you're meant to do is pick up your cat, hold it where he/she peed, and say NO really loud. How on earth is that meant to work? And for a boy cat in a house with 3 girl cats...two of them are kittens and one is his sister...I think it's his way of revolting. Plus it's winter and he's too lazy and cold to go outside. There's aparently some sort of spray you can get, which is usually meant to go on upholstery/carpet, etc. Maybe ask your vet what is recommended for kitchen areas. Naughty kitties! I do also know cats do not like the scent of vinegar or citrus. Keep an open orange around these areas, or clean them with orange scented cleaner. Worth a try huh? good luck.

He might be returning because they're now 'baited' with scent; for textiles you'd wash with biological washing powder because the enzymes destroy the scent.
For the work surfaces try putting a surface down that he doesn't want to walk on, a cloth with something lumpy underneath like cutlery and cans might persuade him to go elsewhere. (A nuisance for you).
Cats dislike the smell of citrus. You could try blocking the electrical sockets that aren't in use with the covers you use to stop toddlers poking their fingers in, then put some essential orange, lemon, lime or grapefruit oil on the cover.
You could also try putting some on cotton wool and leaving it in a dish on the worksurface.

There are a bunch of things you should know about dog training but we are going to discuss what I feel are some the most important. Keep in mind that these are only some of the things you should know. Go here http://OnlineDogTraining.enle.info/?K1bo
1. Repetition is the number 1 principle of dog training. Dogs just like humans learn by doing things over and over in order to get better.
2. Dog Training can and should be fun for both you and your new pet.
3. Training sessions should always be short but sweet. I never work a dog more than 15 minutes in a session to keep from losing the dog's attention. You should train you dog at least once a day but never more than three formal sessions a day.
4. Your goal should be that each training session is just a little bit better than the last one. You need to always strive to make the training better, slowly. I mention this because quite often I see people who do daily training sessions but the dog never gets better and it is not the dogs fault.
5. Having patients is very important in dog training. Losing your temper does not work with a canine it simply makes things worse.
6. Exercise is very important in the training process to get rid of all the dogs nervous energy.
7. Taking your pet for walks is very important because it develops serotonin which gives your dog a feeling of well being.
8. Always be sure to give your dog a bunch of praise in your training. It is your dog's paycheck for doing a great job.
9. Never hit your dog. I have heard people say I never hit my dog instead I roll up a magazine and swat it. It's the same thing... hitting is hitting.
10. After each training session be sure to do something that your dog will enjoy. Take it for a walk, throw the ball or maybe even rub its belly. Just do something that makes the dog look forward to the next training session.
These are things that I teach my dog training students as well as my dog training clients. I hope these things will give you something to think about when training your dog. Spend some time training your dog daily and you will both reap the benefits.

Try a spray you can get from your Vets - its called Feliway.
It replicates a cats scent markings so he won't feel he needs to mark his territory.

Everytime it gets on the counter top, flick his nose lightly and put him on the floor and say NO and point your finger at it. And anyway, cats should not be on counters its unhygenic

Litter train him.
If he's an un-neutered tom he could be marking his territory. The only cure for that is to have him neutered.Un-spayed females also do this so if it's a girl have her spayed.
