He went after me...he acts mad that I don't call,then when his friends are around he plays like he doesn't know why I'm calling him(after getting mad because I don't call enough!).When his friends aren't around anymore he'll go back to pining over me.....Why is he doing that?

I think he doesn't want them to know that he's desperate that you call him more because his friends would think he's a loser.

It's a game to him. You have already identified the behavior - "he acts mad". You did not say that he becomes angry, just acts mad.
"goes back to pining over me" - that's part of the act.
Are you tiring of the drama yet? If not, just play along.
If so, turn the tables. When he "plays like he doesn't know why you are calling", just say "Oops, sorry, I must have the wrong number" and hang up. You can also call him at odd times and just let it ring once, then hang up. Tell him you called but there was no answer. Got it? Your call as to how you want to play.
BTW, turn off your phone so when he calls, you can say that there must be some problem with the equipment. You don't want him bugging you at odd hours.
Where did you find this dramatic guy anyway? He could be a fun guy if you are up to it. Just need to escalate the play with some mystery. Good luck.

yeah well a lot of guys are like that they like to put on fronts in front of their friends and if hes gonna act that way and not act like he likes you just because hes around his friends he isnt worth it

Men like him are not looking for a relationshio,their just looking to get laid.He knows you"ll be there when he wants you. Don't be.
Play the game, when he calls tell him you've got better things to do. Let him chase you around.Or better yet let him go for good,find somene who wont treat you like crap
