To be equally yoked is to be in complete agreement. The believer is equally yoked to Christ because he/she is in agreement with Christ. Marriages that are unequally yoked are doomed to failure, which is why the divorce rate is over 50% and why there is so much violence in the home. Everything in life, right down to the smallest part of it is based upon relationships. The ultimate relationship is between the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit----these three persons of the Trinity are always in agreement and therefore can never be separated. this is why Jesus is God.
Believers are not to be yoked with unbelievers because God and the world are at enmity with one another, meaning that they can never be reconciled. The devil can never be saved, as some believe, because he is pure evil and evil cannot stand in the same place as love, which is Christ. A believer can not consort with the wicked because he/she has cast off the old life and put on a new life in Christ. the Bible says that an apostate Christian cannot be restored; therefore, once the yoke with Christ is broken, then it cannot be reestablished.
I am a full time minister of the Gospel of Jesus Christ; therefore, I am equally yoked with my profession. If I choose to marry I will only marry a women who is a full time worker in the church and who I am sure is equally yoked with Christ. I have family members that are Christians.

Equally yoked...that means like two oxen, with the yokes (those long bar things that go across both their necks - you know, you steer them with the reins that pull the yoke to one side or the other). Not to be confused with "yolked", which has to do with eggs.
Hmm. No. I am not yoked with anyone, that implies that we are livestock, for one thing, and that we are both being controlled by someone. I guess if you're following the livestock analogy, if you're "unequally yoked" with an unbeliever, it could mean that the unbeliever is not under anyone's control...sort of a bad ox, as it were. I and my kids are all atheists, so I guess you could say that we are all equally un-yoked.

if a strong is paired to a weak the yoke sits uneven ,the strong will crush the weak as the yoke twists crushing the weaker
instead of the load moving it swivels upon the weaker
being yoked to equals the load is shared equally
its like using a lever on as sinking fulcrum ,when the load is lifted the fulcrum sinks in the mud and there is no halving of the mass thus no fulcrum and no advantage
a yoke should not act as lever ,but more as a pully.
halving the weight not transphering the load,

Hmmmm... "mismated" or "unevenly yoked" is the translation from the Greek Word...
Studying the Hebrew Word for the person God was seeking to make for Adam in Genesis we find the Hebrew expression literally means "according to the opposite of him." Translations such as "suitable" or "suitable for" , "matching," "corresponding to" all capture the idea. (Translations that render the phrase simply "partner" or helper, while not totally inaccurate, do not reflect the nuance of correspondence or suitability.) The man's form and nature are matched by the woman's as she reflects him and complements him. Together they correspond. In short, this prepositional phrase indicates that she has everything that God had invested in him.
In this context the Hebrew word seems to express the idea of an "indispensable companion." The woman would supply what the man was lacking in the design of creation and logically it would follow that the man would supply what she was lacking, although that is not stated here.
So in reflection, Paul is simply contrasting God's purpose for marriage defined in the beginning - prior to the fall...

The only person I need to be equally yoke to is my wife & Children & God.. Now since you have try to twist this subject around, Did you know that the bible speaks that if a man or woman has a wife or husband that is not a believer, it says not to put him/her away, But if they leave then that innocent person is not under bondage, Bondage of what? Their marriage vows. So the first thing I want to be yoke together with is God, Then My wife & children. I am not required to be yoke together with friends that is unbelievrs.

To be unequally yoked is a warning from GOD to spirit filled christians, Do not marry an unbeliever who lives to seek the things of and in the world. The scripture tells us to seek you first the kingdom of GOD,and for an exampel if a recovering drug addict, ect! wants to remain free from his/her addiction they must stay away from old habits and former friends who are still using, or drinking. However if you are already married to an unbeliver GOD tells you not to leave him/her but to remain strong in your faith, You can not change them, however by remaining faithful to GOD He will eventually change them for you! However he does tell us you can leave your spouse, only for fornification Having therfore being unfaithful to his/her spouse. For a christian who desides to marry an unbeliever they will experience great sorrow.Ihope this helps.
