ANY boot camp is tough....The toughest part of Ranger School, is completing training without using your option to D.O.R. or...not making the Pin Party.

Boot camp for the USMC is like any other initial training...it's there to thin the herd and turn recruits into Marines. Using the term "Ranger Training" isn't entirely accurate. You have RIP, the Ranger Indoctrination Program...for infantry soldiers who want to go to a Ranger Battalion after jump school. Then there's a lot of OJT, or on the job training that takes place in a Ranger Bn. Then you have Ranger School, which is an extended leadership school, specializing in teaching combat leaders how to perform under extreme stress, food/sleep deprivation, etc. Personnel assigned to a Ranger Bn, who wear the Ranger scroll, go through a lot more than people who go to Ranger School to get the tab.

While Marine Corps basic training is more difficult than Army basic, there is no comparison to Ranger Training. The Rangers are some of the most elite soldiers in the world, and the training is some of the toughest in the world. Rangers lead the way!

Is this really a fair question? Marine Corps basic is longer then the Armys basic. In my mind in order to compare Ranger training you have to also look into the Marine Corps Recon special training. If you do not do this then Ranger training will be tougher

Check out this link below it explains about Recon

I don't really know about the Rangers but would guess in the new world of training from what I read they must be. At one time I know my Dad who was a SeaBee (they went in ahead of anyone to set up for others to come in) said that he was at a Marine camp one time up in MD I think?? and said what they went thru was unreal and tough as he**
There is a sign that was put up on an Island during WWII that said " THIS ROAD BUILT BY SEABEES FOR MARINES TO COME IN ON"......lol....have a picture of that in a book about the war

I always heard that the Marines were the toughest???But if ranger means "LEAP"I believe that is the right term???They are the ones that go ahead of the soldiers in combat. If I have that right maybe the Ranger is.I know I counseled "Leap" Soldier from the Army and he was sick sick sick he had seen soooo much and even had to carry out brothers blown up and mangled etc.some twice his size?????Carry his dead dog that weighed 75-80 3's that had been killed and on and on and run like crazy to get away from the immediate enemy and get his men in position for combat. It was horrible!!!!!!
