Take a discovery flight at a local flight school. You will be able to manipulate the controls from the get-go. You might fall instantly in love with it or you might puke....Or Both!! You're young, that's good. Don't do drugs and don't get visible tattoos. Find a good school. Becoming a pilot in the military is tough because you have to keep up with the program or you wash out, but I think the opportunities for a job in the private sector is better with military flight experience. Learn to fly in the USA, the best schools are here and the airspace is the most conducive to learning. It takes a while to make good money with the airlines. You will start in the right seat and will be making less money than the person who pumps out the john. Don't be discouraged! It is worth it if you love flying and put in your time. Training takes a lot of hours and money, but if you progress well it's not too bad. Good luck!

Well I can tell you this much...having a 'sudden aspiration' isnt going to get you anywhere if you want to be a pilot, civilian or military. What you need is constant dedication. You must want it very badly, because it is not an easy thing. If you are really a female living in India...well I mean no disrepect, but I dont think you will get taken very seriously there, I am unaware of India having female pilots in its military. If that is the case, you will want to migrate to the US (assuming you want to fly commercially) and go to a college here that has a flight program.

I'm not too sure about earning potential in India, but here are some guidlines if you should decide to follow an aviation carrear in the US:
(after getting com. inst. etc)
1) 3-5 years - instructor - $16,000 to $25,000
2) 5-15 years - regional airline - $18,000 - 100,000
3) 20-50 years - major airline - $30,000 - $250,000
of course these are very rough estimates. I make just over 100K a year as a newly minted captian with United, but I am higher on the senority list than most new capts.

You can start at a flight school now,but you can't get your private pilots license until your 16.You have to work your way up,from private single engine land,to instrument ,to multiengine, retractable,up to ATP.You need at least 1500 hrs. to get your ATP(Airline Transport Pilot). It is very expensive to go all the way to ATP by paying your own way.Starting in the military is a much better way.But it is also more demanding.

Hi there, i am going to be 16 too, n just like u , i too wanna join the IAF. Actually, i wanted to be an astronaut until very recently, but my view has changed a bit, though not entirely, after i asked a ques. on Yahoo!Answers itself. (Refer to my profile.) Although i dunno whether it is better to be a fighter or a commercial pilot, i would certainly be a fighter pilot as it gives me an adrenaline-rush just to see those fighters. I'll update my answer as soon as i find out abt. the details req. for each. Thanx anyways, i wanted to search for the same thing, but forgot evrytime.

you may not discover any, if that's quite grunge that you want. compared to bands like Mudhoney, eco-friendly River, Soundgarden or perhaps Pearl Jam, STP sounded especially commercial and pa-like. They genuinely were to grunge what era X were to punk. this isn't a slam adversarial to STP...i do not imagine they considered themselves grunge besides. they in basic terms had type of an same sound, and were energetic on the time grunge became time-honored.

So glad you asked that. I too have ambitions of flying aircraft. I'd love to fly my own Citation X from continent to continent.
