who is inext of kin in uk,when dealing with a patient?

If the patient hasn't named a next of kin, then it is usually the husband or wife, then if no husband or wife it's mother or father. If there are no parents next for some odd reason, it is the eldest brother and so on.

If they are married - thier spouse is. If not, it's a close fmaily member such as mother or father.
