the Italians have got a good one. Toast, fresh chopped tomatoes and fresh basil with a splash of olive oil. They don't eat it for breakfast but I do sometimes

My grandmother did this for us when we visited her in Germany (she was Latvian) and we used to fight over who got the biggest bowl. I still do it now, and it brings back many memories - nice ones and it is healthy too!

Omite's breakfast.

1 Grapefruit (yellow) segmented and chopped up without the pith.
1 Large banana
1 tablespoon wheat germ - not bran, that leaches out calcium
1 tablespoon linseed
Boiling water to make up to consistency you prefer
Honey to taste

Segment the grapefruit and chop it up roughly.
Mash the banana on a plate adding some of the juice from the grapefruit to prevent it discolouring.
Add that to the bowl with the grapefruit
Add rest of the ingredients and stir.
Taste and then add the honey if needed.

This can be prepared the night before - as long as the bananas have some acid on them to prevent them from discolouring and of course you would not add the water until the last minute.

Delicious, goes down easily and healthy to. Just do not look at it!
