mine is worth every cent - before I had a ghd i had a muster and when i bought the muster it was the top of the range, but that was before ceremic plated straigtners came out. I love my GHD - i just wish i can afford the $50 aud each to buy a bottle of ghd shampoo and ghd conditioner.

GHD's are well worth the money. The cheap ones just dont give the same result. They also last longer. I have had one for 2 years and its pretty much as good as new... I use it to striaghten and curl my hair. Dont go for the smallest plated one unless you have short hair. If you have long long thick hair then go for fat plated one. But the original size is a good all rounder. You can curl and striaghten. PLus it allows you to get close to the root of the hair. If you must use cheap one then make sure you put something to protect your hair before striaghtening. GHD makes a really light weight oil in a spray from but i really think you can find another hairdressing brand that is cheaper and does pretty much the same job.
Oh and i found that the cheaper ones tend to give 'static'look to the hair. Flyways..
ghd has a deal at the moment where if you trade your old one in you get it for i think $75 in Australia
Happy Striaghtening!!

Tried cheaper ones first, but GHD's are the best I've found, by miles. My hair is done much more quickly, especially as I know what I'm doing now! Had mine for about 3 years, still good as new. They go first into my bag when I'm going away!!!
Have even been known to take them to the gym!

GHDs are definately one of the best straighteners out there, if not THE best...
i was a little reluctant to spend $300 on a straightener, so i just bought the Silver Bullet Extreme (it has titanium plates and cost me about $200)...im so happy with it, it works just like a GHD... i have really hard to straighten hair, but with the silver bullet its fast and easy, and my hair stays straight even after ive slept on it..
highly recommended! definately worth $200 if your a little hesitant about totally splurging on the GHD.

I love my GHD's i actually couldn't live without them and i could never use a cheaper pair again, i find they don't work as well. I have very wavy, frizzy hair but after using GHD's i have lovely smooth, straight hair that lasts until i next wash it and i only have to use them once to get that effect!!

Absoulutely amazing. Have had mines for about 3 years and couldn't live without them.
You can get them on eBay or the GHD website, a lot of hairdressers usually sell them as well.
I have got the original black ones.
