Simple really. in two ways. Firstly, physically erase the country by flooding if the sea levels rise (countries at sea level like Holland) due to melting ice caps and secondly, some countries which are hot, could become deserts where noone can live.

Global warming is at the fore front because politicians found how to use a new platform to get re-elected. The world leadersuse it because they found ways to make money at it. This is a made up problem just like Global Cooling in the 1970's. Wake up people. I agree we need to be more efficient with our resources, and we should fine and jail companies who are dumping into our rivers maliciously. I want to stop the raiforest destruction, but to say that global warming is a serious man made issue and we need to destroy the American economy and bow down to the rest of the world certainly does not float my boat. Follow the money on this one and you will see that it is all for political gain and grant money for those scientists who profit off of the government if global warming stays at the front of the issues. Look deep into the Keoto (sp?) Treaty, first of all they took jets to a non-central resort location. Not very environmentally concious. THen in the parameters of the treaty they have a clause that makes it so you can buy or sell polution credits. This is all about shifting wealth and breaking down the United States. This is painfully obvious, just look at peoples agenda. The earth's mean temperature has risen .6 degrees C in the past 125 years. Greenland's icecaps have gotten colder in the past 10 years. The Scientists who do not gain anything on their posisition will tell you that the earth has a natural progression and this is what we are seeing. The UN report is made up of POLITICIANS not a good spread of scientists. THere are as many or more scientists who believe that man in NOT the reason and it is over hyped, but their voice is not heard in the LIberal Mainstream Media. WAKE UP AMERICA, IT IS TIME TO BE AMERICANS. FOR THE PEOPLE BY THE PEOPLE. STOP THE LIES

The primary way that something like this would happen is through the rising of sea levels predicted in the event of continued global warming. There is a danger that is the oceans were to rise enough due to melting ice at the planet's poles, many low-lying areas would be completely covered over with water. There are a few countries in Europe at least that I know of where there is almost no land high enough to withstand a great rise in sea level. For example, almost half of the Netherlands is less than a meter above current sea levels. Scary stuff, especially if you have a house in the Netherlands.

I'm just thinking out loud here, but...

If global warming raises the sea level enough, then low lying countries like Holland ? or Denmark are going to have a hard time, since a lot of their land are is already below sea level.

Another possibility might be the expansion of the worlds major deserts, leaving large areas of what is currently Agricultural land uninhabitable. If there is no food, populations will migrate, and without a population, the geographical notion of a 'Country' becomes nonsensical.

Hope this helps :)

Global Warming increases the temperature of the earth. Due to which there could be cyclones. Due to the increase in the temperature the polar ice caps will melt which can cause the sea levels to rise. When the level of the sea rises the coastal regions get submerged.

"I don't know but I do know that "global whining" will cause America to gradually deteriorate".

You forget that if global warming continues, one day there wont be an America - the earth will die.
You have George Bush thinking - Me, me, me. and can't see the bigger picture.

Parts of Africa have had a lack of water, and they have survived quite well.
I believe that the hoopla over global warming has gotten out of hand. It is causing questions to be raised that are simply hypothetical, and the answers only give rise to further hysteria.

yes, there are two major ways that a country could be erased and they are either flooding from rising sea levels(take the maldive islands for example)and from massive drouts(you think some parts of africa are dry now?blimey, wait another ten years if that?big problems there.)

it could cause a country to be completely flooded , so it would be underwater. it would probably be erased from maps but would still be underwater kind of like atlantis
