Paramatma has chosen you, and every other person for a
particular purpose. The aim of life is to understand
the greatness of the creator. And to search for the
purpose for which a soul is given human life. This
purpose differs from person to person because it is
dependent on the past Karma of the soul. But one thing
is sure. Human beings are the highest of all creation.
The rest of the creation is intended for the use of
human beings. How you use is dependent on your mantal
attitude. You cannot specify one purpose for all.
The purpose of Krishna is to prepare Arjuna for war.
But Krishna him self did not participate in the war.
Each one acts according to his past Karma.

There are different levels of people
1. Karmis are interested in money
2. Jnanis are interested in knowledge
3. Yogis are interested in meditation
4. Bhaktas are interested in Bhakti and only they will be interested in Bhagavad-gita, since Bhagavan Krishna speaks it and naturally the Bhakta will be interested in it.
But still the Lord is so merciful that he gives instructions even for the other kinds of people, for instance in the following chapters the Lord discusses
3- karma-yoga
4-jnana-yoga
6-dhyana-yoga
12- bhakti-yoga.
Even in the 12th chapter(Bhakti-yoga), the Lord gives various options as to how one can reach Him. Krishna if one cannot adopt Bhakti Yoga, one can follow the regulative principles of Bhakti Yoga. If not even that then work for the Param Brahma. If one cannot even do that in the verse 12 Krishna says some more options,"If you cannot take to this practice, then engage yourself in the cultivation of knowledge. Better than knowledge, however, is meditation, and better than meditation is renunciation of the fruits of action, for by such renunciation one can attain peace of mind."
Also after giving the final instructions to Arjuna that he should surrender unto the Supersoul dwelling withing the hearts of all Krishna says without forcing Arjuna but gives him freedom of choice by telling, "Deliberate on this fully, and then do what you wish to do".
Krishna has given the free-will and left it on us to choose. Therefore one chooses a particular thing according to his liking.
If one is fortunate enough to understand from a Bhakta then only immediately adopts Bhakti-yoga without wasting time.

The Bhagvad Gita takes time and patience to follow and that is what is lacking these days.
In the Gita it is said that out of a thousand one may endeavor to understand me (God) and out of a thousand who endeavor only one may know me in truth.
Bhakti is for the intelligent since it is the direct route on this path!

People or Jib (in hindi) are all under the influence of Maya. Its due to the influence of Maya that we are always running behind greed, anger, sex. To get rid of this maya we need to do Bhakti & request Lord Krishna to get rid of Maya. As without his wishes nobody in the earth can get rid of maya. He or she will be under her influence in all births until he/she do bhakti & get rid of it.
