It sounds like a pinched nerve. Try some simple range of motion exercises. Ice 20 minutes on and 20 minutes off a couple times a day for a couple days. If it is still there try a heating pad. Take a little ibuprofen (Advil) for inflammation. The range of motion exercises should be very simple and not taxing. Minor shoulder rotation and stretching..but go easy. You need the area to loosen up without swelling and hence ease up on the nerve. When in doubt see the Doc. You didn't provide much info.

You don't say how old your are. If your middle aged, or older it could be the beginning of arthritis (then again young people can suffer from arthritis too). It could be a sport injury, or maybe you've done some heavy lifting and strained the joint. You need to see a doctor if it doesn't go away with rest.

If the pain isn't controlled by OTC analgesics and doesn't resolve in another 2-3 days with rest, you may want to have it evaluated by your primary care physician. What little information you've provided just isn't enough to go on.

Are you a cook? I'm a cook and I have a similar sort of pain in my left arm. My doctor said it is degenerative rheumatism. There is nothing he can do about it.
