Corruption is making India a third world country because the economy is being dragged down by the politicians.

A country develops not by services but by royalties. We in India are very happy that today there is software boom, and job for all the educated. But, the truth is that we are only doing the clerical work for the developed countries and are being paid nuts. With so much of brain we still pay royalties to European and American companies to use their created software. There is yet no software to the credit of India.

We cannot complain that India is not progressing because of corruption. India is a free economy now. Anyone who wants to set up a industry is helped by the government.

India will only develop when its educated lot will stop doing the clerical work of testing and start writing codes. We have all the resources, we only need generate ideas.

Undoubtedly India is an unconquerable country. Like few answers as posted its mind set. Consider past 60 years of development in India and any other country in the world. There is no derived definition for developed nation. According to your scale (may be US or Europe as scale) you can derive one. More over, who should develop the country?? You and Me living outside the country, using most available illegal ways to send money back home (stopping India government and people to benefit), and complaining! I guess we have to change our way of thinking and mind set. If we develop a feeling inside our mind that we are not inferior to anyone in the world, then we are part of a developed nation. Development is in your way.

Most of the foreign media is saying “India is developing” and in the same article, undoubtedly pointing out about the population and mentioning that large number of people living under $1 per day etc. basic intention is to give a wrong message to outside world. Don’t believe such media stunts, instead, go see India with your own eyes (as I did). You will see the changes. At least for me it’s “AMAZING”. Yes my India is SOARING.

It is only a matter of your own way of seeing the things. You see India as a slave in the history of mankind, but for me, India had been the world leader in every sphere of life from the time immemorial, be it science, maths, technology, society or even hygiene.

Not only India is in its developing stage, even America has not stopped its development projects and say that he would not need any scientific or social development in future. It is only our mindset that whatever Britishers (now Americans) say is universal truth. If they say America is developed, we accept it as 'India is undeveloped.' we need to correct our vision.

India is only lagging behind in development not because it is anyway inferior to America or Britain, but because we, the Indians, don't have a national character. We do not think to serve our country, but run to America for some more dollars in our pocket.

How can a country speed up its development, when most of its promising engineers, doctors and even scientists have an eye for the money and no consideration for the nation.

India proved its potential in the past and (inadvertantly) even America accepted the supremacy of India when he kept out Indian scientist, doctors and engineers from the sanctions imposed on us. Even America knows that its development is just unsustainable without Indians.

Our country is second to none in the world ... ... but it needs a hand from the sons of the soil.

India is a bobbing up usa via fact it lacks the infrastructure for it to be in any different case. confident India has staggering technologies and actually some many very sharp minds. It additionally has grinding poverty. It additionally has a literacy value of sixty 5% as of 2001. the line device, mutually as huge, is likewise overburdened and poorly maintained. The potential infrastructure would not meet the demands of right this moment by no potential strategies the demands that India's right this moment growing to be financial device are going to place on it. the certainty that India is growing to be so rapid and so confusing, would desire to be an illustration that India is a bobbing up usa. A more desirable usa would have spend orders of value greater to get a similar expansion. (that's the theory of diminishing returns.) as an occasion, u.s. will no longer be able to truly advance that's street infrastructure via right this moment development greater roads. There are already roads connecting surprisingly plenty definitely everyone to definitely everyone else. the way for u.s. to advance in this way would be to locate a ultimate new style of transportation and right this moment and aggressively enforce it. India would be a more desirable usa while the roads have all been made. while the colleges have led to a era or 2 to take literacy with none attention, while the guy strolling the line would not subject themselves with no count if or no longer their lights fixtures will activate while they get domicile.

India will become a developed country and thats for sure.If u r comparing India's development with that of America then one thing u must remember Americans got their independence 150 years ago and we just 60 years ago there is a huge gap of 90 years .it might take more time for us to reach because of our poor politics, infrastructure, etc but we will reach at that point.

I read a great article on motherlovejones.com about the efficeincy of the mafia, organized crime, and corruption. It argued basically that organized crime is so much more efficient than big political beurocracies that legitimate governments will never be able to be rid of it. It makes sense since it has to exist somewhere, that it exists in countries where the system of government is relatively recent.
For example, take the drug trade in Western Europe. In the early ninetees and late eightees drugs were coming in from war torn Jugoslavia, carried in by ''refugees'' who would even walk across the alps at night. It took years for local authorities and Interpol to finally figure out where they were coming from and to finally shut down their bigger operations. The drug dealers simply found another poor and desperate people who were willing to risk their lives for a few bucks, they went to Sudan and found plenty who were willing to make similar voyages all the way to Morocco where they could make it in to Spain.
It's human nature to survive, even if it means breaking the law.

Because of the thinking and perception of the citizen, 80-90% of the population is selfish, they try and protect their income even without contributing to the governements, more than 3/4ths of the rich class doesnot reveal it and escape the taxes that are due to the departments ... people want to get everything free... who will contribute to the governments income.. to make them invest.. even if the govt has enough funds 99% is taken by the so called politicans ... this is never ending..
