He may be sort of like you and sort of fancy you... You know... ;) But whether he is in love you can't say for sure, I suppose to tell if he's in love you need to waqtch him more and then tell us more, and then we'll tell you. ;)
A person in love gets shy and stumbles in words when he is near his/her dream girl of boy. A person in love may try to express his feelings in small silly things like SMS or mails, or chocolates on your table, or even a flower... That's what I think.

Not saying that it is true, but just maybe, and I mean just maybe, maybe you talk to much and it has caused him to go into MAAM (male auto answer mode) the hug is the only way to get you to shut up.

Depends where you are and what you're doing... I'd say if you're in bed when he does that, then it's lust, but if you catch him doing it when he thinks you're not looking or in a totally non-sexual context, then I'd say it's love my friend.
