If you file seperately you are claiming your exemption and he claims his. There must be at least one exemption per tax return. He can't claim you if you file seperately.

No, you'll each get your own exemption on your own return. He can't "claim" you on his. You will, though, each have to show the other's social security number on your return.

If one of you itemizes, then the other must itemize also - you can't take a standard deduction if your spouse itemizes.
