While most don't know who first came up with the idea of relatism, and what that person said about Christianity, compaired to other religions or ideas. But society continues to act hypocritically to chirstians and not other religions. While I ask know who and why this idea came about I would like to put it out there, so that people can talk about something beside religious views of a religion MOST don't believe in, quoting scriptures to give mock answer(pulling out of context) and then saying we'll also i am not a Christian, why use the bible as a source? I understand that no question will get a definit answer, for someone can ALWAY doubt any answer, as Sextus Empiricas showed in is circular debate to knowledge, rather my point is to express that most have a view of Christianity trying to push something, while the true message is that we-Christians have taken on a calling to love EVERYONE and show the reasoning in our belief, and if one wants they may take up this calling...

Because Christianity, more than any other belief, attacks the notion of relativity at it's heart. In Christianity, there is absolute truth, clear right and wrong, clear black and white. As opposed to relativism, which says morals are the basis of one's upbringing, heritage, education, etc.

Cultural Relativism simply MUST attack Christianity because both views cannot be correct.

Good question, thanks for posting.

One last point to ponder. If Cultural Relativism is correct, then one must agree with the following statement: "Who are you to judge me, I did what I thought was right."

Too bad that statement was made by Charles Manson.

there's a deep theological clarification for this and it is going far previous this venue for an answer. Christians do have a fastened standpoint, and it incredibly is seen as being illiberal. as an occasion, I desire to have confidence that if I carve a decide of a tree, and phone it my god, then I could have that top. confident you do, even yet it incredibly is purely a bite of a tree, and not something greater. in this occasion, I enhance into extremely offended with people who say that my god is fullyyt a bite of a tree and not something greater. How dare they belittle my god! nicely, the Bible does say to have not the different gods different than God himself, and that graven photos are actually not proper. that's seen as being illiberal,on an identical time as easily, to the Christian, that's merely a fact of fact. Argue with God approximately it, bypass away Christians out of it.

Because when the churches found control of the people they thought it would work
Churches have be fighting rebellion for over 1800 years

All people need is Faith in themselves

God comes from within

To give and receive LOVE

To except people for who they are

People know what is right and what is wrong

They don't need to go to church to confess to free their guilt

They just have to learn not to sin to start with

Or live and learn from all our mistakes and try not to make them happen again that is why God gave us free will : )

Love & Blessings

People must live by the book and respect all other religions. That means accepting the universal salvation of others and respecting their rights. I do not believe you can understand the New Testament without a deep appreciation of the history and culture of the Old Testament. The rules and laws are sacred and must be appreciated, I am not saying follow all the old laws, but respect them for what they are.

There is a lot of good in the Baha'i and Zoroastrian faiths, and I have an appreciation of Buddhism. Personally, I think that we are supposed to help one another and respect one another. I will not tolerate people who want to assail me. Spirituality requires generosity, an abandonment of the pursuit of worldly goods, sharing, forgiveness, absolute equality for everyone regardless of sex, class, race, etc, and the pursuit of world peace and social justice.

Hold on a second.

There are four very simple reasons why christianity is under fire:

(1) It is the singularly most evil organisation to ever exist in human history. See:
http://one-faith-of-god.org/final_testament/end_of_darkness/evil/evil_0200.htm

(2) The organisation was never founded by Jesus and his apostles, but Paul of Tarsus (St. Paul) and the very same high priests who had Jesus crucified. See
http://one-faith-of-god.org/new_testament/apocrypha/founders_christianity/founders_christianity_0010.htm

(3) The Vatican remains by the far the largest economic entity in the world, controlling vast riches but still allowing poverty, promoting war and suffering and denying its wealth (itself a supremely evil act)
See
http://one-faith-of-god.org/final_testament/end_of_darkness/truth/truth_0010.htm

(4) Christians refuse to read and celebrate their deliberate ignorance as a badge of honor.

Cheers
