This happens to me all the time.
No one ever knows wheta to recommend. Thats why most liquor shops have a recommendation chart beneath each product.
I asked for help with choosing a wine for a party. I asked the attendant and they said, "I don't know, they all taste crap"
Yeah Okay

huh???

If you're in a clothing store, and you want a new shirt but don't know what you want...if you ask one of the sales associates, they will help you pick a top.

If you go to car dealership to buy a car, but you don't know what you want, the salesman will ask you questions to determine what kind of vehicle would best suit your needs.

If you go into a wine store, and don't know what you want, the girl will ask what kind of wine you like...red or white... dry....i don't know much about wine, so when i buy it, i ask for reccomendations. Part of their job is to help you find wine. The clerks should be educated about wine, they're not just their to work the til. And if you ask her questions, and she has no clue about wine, i would call the manager and complain aout the poor service you got and shop for wine someplace else.

"Hi, i don't know much about wine so i was wondering if could please recommend something for me. I prefer red over white, and i like it a bit sweet....what would you recommend?"

Try working on your communication skills, it's amazing, if you ask questions, you get answers!

You're obviously too inexperienced to be in our shop (with a snotty tone), maybe you should try the ABC liquor store down the street for a bottle of Wild Irish Rose.

The worst thing is when the clerk totally ignores you.

"Hmmm... you look like a Shirley Temple drinker to me"

Or maybe....

"I think I saw you on Crimestoppers!" [and then everyone else in the shop turns and stares at you]
