Is there any difference between a cake mix and a muffin mix?

Yes. Muffins usually have less sugar than cake mix. If you put cake mix in muffin tins, you end up with cupcakes. Which is not such a bad thing either.

Hi Lilly, Muffin mix i think they cook a little faster than cake mixes. If you want to try a vanilla cake mix for muffins, let me know how they turned out. A Friend.

Muffins are more moist than cakes, so I'd say no. Every muffin I make has oil or something along the same lines.

Yes but usually the cooking time will be a lot quicker since more heat will penetrate the areas of the muffin pan, so make sure you cook them at a shorter time and watch them often to make sure they don't burn

Sure!
For an added surprise, place a small chocolate square or a Roche-Ferrero inside your muffins, and bake. Yummmm....
