Blood in stool is NOT normal. It could be from a variety of health issues. What color is it? How often? How much? Is the child in any pain? When did this occur? These are questions a health care provider will ask. This needs immediate medical attention.

Normally it is not because worms usually appears on a persons face.Throughout the life of an ordinary human, one may experience many types of feces. A "green" stool is from rapid transit of feces through the intestines, and "clay-like" appearance to the feces is the result of a lack of bilirubin. Bile overload is very rare, and not a health threat. Problems as simple as serious diarrhea can cause blood in owner's stool, turning it black. Food may sometimes make an appearance in the feces. Common undigested foods found in human feces are seeds, nuts, corn and beans, mainly because of their high fiber content.

It could be any number of things, but only your GP will be able to tell you for sure. Your child will probably have to give a stool sample.

not necessarily worms. it could be amoebiasis. it could also be a hemorrhoids. there could be a lot but whatever it is, it indicates internal bleeding and what causing the bleeding will only be revealed after several tests will be done to your child, he/she needs medical attention asap. a sigmoidoscopy m,ight be done to view his lower intestine or a colonoscopy the whole intestine in order to see if there are ulcerations, tumors, or inflammation going on in there. a fecal exam too will reveal what worms, bacteria, etc may be causing the bleeding. bring him/her to the doc now.
