Thou shalt not take a slave since isn't that the whole reason that Moses went to the mountain in the first place. Don't you think it was a good time to add that to the list? If it wasn't why not? My thoughts is because if it were written there would be no more Kings and Queens and well the world would be all different now wouldn't it?

I meant what prompted the whole thing not that he went there because of that, my bad.

You say slavery wasn't the same thing but then if it wasnt that bad why did GOD make sure it ended like by killing all egyptian first born.

Once again back to the same old it only makes sense when we want it to.

Jews treated their slaves a lot better than other countries around them.

(Sometimes I get the feeling that slavery wasn't what we make it out to be. In the Bible, they almost seems like domestic employees.)

The concept of slavery in the Middle East was completely different than the concept of slavery in North America. Please study this.

And Moses didn't go to the mountain to discuss slavery, where did you get that idea? He went to receive a message from God.

God wanted His people freed from Egypt so that they could return to the promised land, it wasn't about slavery being good or bad. The plagues you speak of were to convince Pharaoh that God was indeed real, and he needed a lot of convincing as you see.

You know to be honest. We are all slaves aren't we?? Any one of us who has a job or bills to pay. We are all slaves to the all mighty dollar bill. And even if it was added to the ten commandments do you really think it would have changed anything? Think about it, how many of the comandments are ignored today?
