I am not sure if windows vista runs on x64 or x86.

yes...u can use old prgs without any problems.

If your system is running the x64 edition of Vista, it's using an identical/simmilar engine to Windows XP x64 to run 32 bit programs. Most will work fine in this environment.

If you don't even have a 64 bit processor, don't worry about it, because you're running the x86 version of vista.

As for programs in general, some are just plain not vista compatible in any case.

Depends on what version of Windows Vista you have and if its a 32bit or 64 bit version. Some programs and applications are not compatible with Windows Vista unless you update the driver.

Yes, for example I tried to use Anim8or in Vista, it got blocked but after that trying all of ways for it to be used. I have 'right-clicked' the .exe file (application icon) and run it as administrator. then it works perfectly fine. good luck!
