Seven World Trade Center was finished last year and is already open. The foundation work has begun for the Freedom Tower. The PATH train station has been rebuilt. The Deutsche Bank building and Fitterman Hall are in the early stages of demolition.

I thought they had started the actual building.
There was a ceremony in December where survivors and families of the fallen were able to sign steel beams that were going into the making of The Freedom Towers.

Construction on below-grade utility relocations, footings, and foundations for Freedom Tower began on April 27, 2006.
As of December 19, 2006, the first steel columns are being installed at the building's foundation.

And you are right about there being a lack of news re the rebuilding.
I would very much like to see more televised progress on the construction.
We watched in stupefied awe as it fell; I'd love to see it rise.

not much more, in fact plans continue to be revised.. sad.. it should have been rebuilt in 1 year just to prove a point. same w/ new orleans....
