If you see a guy in a designer wool trenchcoat, dress pants and shoes, and sporting a flashy watch, what is your first impression of him? Assuming you don't know his personality.
Now imagine the same guy in Nike sneakers, jeans, t shirt and a Casio sports watch. What is your impression?
Which outfit makes a better impression on you?

I would be expecting the guy in the trench coat to flash me his bits. I would think he was a flasher. As for the other... well he would be the one I would most likely talk too
Jeans always make a good 1st impression, as long as they aen't torn or dirty

Personally, I'd like the 2nd impression. The first guy, he seems way too much into his appearance, possibly meaning that he is high-maintainance(spelling?) and self-centered. A guy in a T-shirt, normal jeans (not the faded or jeans with whole in them, yuck) and boots.....MmHmm.
Oh, and it depends on location as well, like the other person said. If you are at a wedding, the 1st impression is ok. But if you're out at lets say... the mall or just for coffee, then 2nd is good.

well, my first impression on that guy who wears that designer wool trenchcoat are, 1. he's a womanizer... 2. he has a lot of money... 3. someone who likes to dress smartly in every occasion...
about that guy who wears the nike sneakers are, 1. he's kind of cool 2. someone who is average...
i think the second outfit makes a better impression on me...

The first one seems professional and would make a better impression because he would probably have more in common with me

For me, either/or! It's not really the clothes, it's the face/smile, eyes, physique, neatness/crispiness.
