Our alien hero is going to fight an unarmed delaying action against multiple enemy alien combatants .

The Enemy aliens are pretty much 1to3 strike kills for our Alien hero .Our Alien Hero is rugged and soaks up damage like a sponge but he cannot just stand there and take strikes all day long .

He does have a medium speed regeneration .Our hero can sprint at 30 mph and cruise at 15 to 20 mph. There are 10 to 15 enemy aliens that will try to bypass our hero to force him to fight a static battle protecting defenceless noncombatants who would die from 1 attack from an enemy alien .The enemy aliens speed is about 20 sprint and 10 to 15 mph cruise speed.

Our hero alien also is quite capable of striking on the move even at sprinting speed. So much so that his abilty to strike on the move would be metaphoricly speaking comparing a modern gyrostabilized tank to a non stabilized tank in terms of firing on the move .

The terrain is an open plain with a few trees scattered far and few between

Whats the minimum distance our alien hero can defeat the enemy aliens while keeping a sense of that was a close call ?

Uhm, what's the attack range of your two variables?

So let me get this right, Hero Vs 10 to 15 Aliens, right?

Hero needs to protect an un-numbered amount of weak civilians and can mett out punishing blows while receiving multiple blows from multiple static combatants. (multiple = 3 to 6) Hero can also move considerably faster when cruising and sprinting and has a mdm health regen ability.

The only thing not mentioned so far is that the Aliens have a 1 - 3 attack capability. This is, as far as I can see without knowing the other variable specifics, primarily for a civilian attack.

I can't answer the minimum distance question due to lack of info - ie, distance in between Alien and Hero, civilian location relative to Hero, what kind of weapons they are using and so on and so forth. But, I will say that your Hero can win by sprinting past the edges of the enemies lines. Whether they are in circle, line, box, or diamond attack form, the perimeter is always the weakest link and can be whittled away. Sprint and hit one side then sprint and hit the other side. If you do this from a safe distance and keep the fog of war and confusion going it should not be that close of a call.

Spock out.
