I have recently turned on to some very good stuff on DVD from The History Channel, and now I'm excited. What recommendations do you have about really quality informative stuff [National Geographic being the obvious example] I should look for on DVDs that was done for the better cable channels? What would you say is worth the price? (They ARE pricey, being multi-disk sets.)

That depends upon what you did with the time you might have spent watching TV.
Before you rush out and purchase a bunch of DVD's, you might want to visit a media rental center and local library to see what is available. There have been numerous show that are worth the effort of watching, but still few that you might want to own and watch over and over again.
Shopping search engine listings, once you know the names of some series will give you listings for both new and used DVD's, singly and in sets. You might also try topics followed by "DVD".
Overstocked sites and eBay have several listings all the time.
You might also consider donating any sets that you no longer are involved in heavily watching to your library.

My family hardly watches even though we have cable - there is just nothing on worth watching. My husband was really into the History Channel, but he says they have not produced anything new in years and just do rerun after rerun.
Sorry, that doesn't help, does it! There are just so many more things to do with your life when you still have kids at home. I do seem to remember a few years ago that there were some GOOD shows on animal network that had the most AMAZING footage that I just could not believe, but as to specific suggestions - no, I don't have any.

The Civil War series produced by Ken Burns for PBS was phenomenal and really set the stage for the success of the History Channel and Discovery.
Check out the link below for more information about this series.

undergo in strategies the KKK peaches hate as a center message, mutually as Senator Obamas former church would not they did no longer say White human beings would desire to be killed, hung, lynched the Media basically took 3 or 4 comments that have been controversial and blew them out of share, the senator even admitted he had no longer heard those statements interior the two decades he attended the church to boot as others that have been to the church which shows that's no longer the consistent message of the church. So incredibly there is no assessment to the Klan. yet to respond to your question, if the KKK donated over a million dollar to aids learn, created job classes for the underprivileged, presented much less costly housing for senior voters, and presented day look after undesirable families and that replace into the element of the reason of the association i'd evaluate balloting for them. provided that McCain is stated via the KKK and has no longer renounced it do you communicate him a racist. I guess the respond isn't any.

The Nature of Things with David Suzuki.
Situation comedies were quite nice too, though they are a rare comodity in this age.
I haven't watched much TV either, I keep it on the DL.
I have to say that Monster Garage caught my attention, it was fun.

I would say get Time Warner Cable, and watch every single movie on HBO demand, CINEMAX demand, SHOWTIME Demand and TMC on demand. Oh and don't forgot to watch GLADIATOR.
