Because crazy doesn't care what religion you are. Crazy isn't prejudice or picky. It'll pick anyone.

Ok look there are certain churches that belive if you are sincerly praying and speaking in "tounges", which is just a bunch of made up gibberish (when you are coniously doing it) then you are therefore speaking in tounges. However if you attend a Holiness church or a 'Church of God' then you will see what speaking in tounges really is. True 'speaking in tounges' is when the spirit of the Lord takes over your vocalizations. NOT when you are conciously doing it! When this happens sometimes someone in the church will, by the spirit of the Lord taking over their vocaliztions, INTERPERT what was said by the person who suddenly spoke in tounges. The church will get almost silent at this because it is know by the members that this is REAL. This happens from time to time but not often, ONLY when God has something to say directly to the church members. People often work themselves into a religious 'fervor" and sometimes speak in tounges during a service or while praying BUT it is caused by the HOLY SPIRIT and not the person speaking. And it is RARELY interpreted.

The answerer God's son could not have said it better. Speaking in tongues is by and through the Holy Spirit. You are not speaking in tongues because you don't believe. The fact that you are trying may indicate that there is something that you believe and I pray that God will give you understanding and that you will continue to seek to know Him. He is there waiting for you to allow Him to come into your heart. I hope you allow Him.

Speaking in tongues is not restricted to evangelicals. There are other delusional individuals around. Have you seen a doctor recently? If not and you do think the tongues make some sense to you, I suggest you do so soon.

If you're an atheist, you CAN'T speak in tongues!
It is only by the power of the Holy Spirit that you can possess the gift of tongues.
"And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance." (Acts 2:4)
If you haven't received Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, then you're deceived.
Ephesians 1:13 says: Those who trusted in Christ, heard the Word of Truth, and believed the Gospel of their salvation, have received the promise of the Holy Spirit.
If you're not saved, then I don't know what you're speaking; but it's NOT of God!
If it's not just nonsense, then... well... let's just say I'd can it if I were you.
If you want to see REAL power, search the Bible for the Truth. The answer will find you.
God Loves YOU!

Because if you are an atheist then your concern is not to speak in tongues. What's the point in being an atheist if you bother concerning yourself with things in the Bible? Kind of contradictory to me.

It proves to me that you know less about Christianity than you think you do. There is a difference between Evangelicals and Pentecostals. A Big difference.
