My newspaper is way too expensive to place an ad in it. Are there other avenues that are less spendy to sell a car?

Craigslist. It's free. Kind of pointless if they don't have a section for your city, though.

You can take it to the dealerships, you can list on CARS.com also make sure you go to CARMAX once you get the estimate from everyone. Every time you take your car to sell at Carmax they will deduct 400 to 500 dollars...so go at the end over there and get the deal.

we have autotrader ( autotrader.ca ) here in Canada...$20 an ad......Craigslist I've heard is pretty good..

Try the internet though...and if your car is half decent put a for sale sign on it with a phone number and park it in a high traffic area...like a mall parking lot
