We just started talking in class, he's the the dorky yet confident type that talks to everyone. He hasn't been showing extra intrest in me, but when I see him in the halls i get this sly smile and look at the floor...
Im thinking about getting a guy friend and asking him to ask him about his state in terms of a date, then asking him if he wants to go.. but If it all works out and he does not want to go I dont want it to be ackward..
and also his good friend asked my friend out to the dance. My friend and I are friendly competitors, I dont want to seem like I lost by asking him out while she gets to be asked.
This is for Jr prom..

Just ask him. You can play the "your friend asking his friend" game if you want, but if you know he's single, and you're even marginally good looking, you're almost guaranteed that he will say yes.
Some things to do:
1. be honest with him.
2. tell him you're interested in him.
3. flirt a little.
4. have fun!
Some things to avoid:
1. dropping the L word.
2. making a date sound like a relationship.
3. feeling bad about asking him when your friend got asked by a guy. There's no shame in taking charge of your own life.

first what u want to do is make sure he likes u............tell one of ur good guy friends to tell himif he is or would be ever interested in u ...................if the answer is yes............then try to approach him..........but if u knowhe the shy kind.............i wouldnt really count on him saying yes to u.............well hope he says yes good luck..........and even if he says know always remember it his loss not urs...........and is this a competition or is it love b/c i am confused

you might not want to use somebody to get somebody; all you have to do is go right to the person and ask about him. and becareful what you ask. you wouldn't want to lose him and also be your self. he will go with you.
