Look read Genisis VERY carefully! It says God said let us make man in our own image, after our own likeness. After he done this He then told the male and female he created to go forth and multiply the Earth. THEN HE made ADAM and EVE and told them to stay in the Garden, right? It was NOT God's intention that Adam and Eve leave the Garden as God would come down and visit with them, right? They were to live forever and be God's company. But when they sinned he sent them out of the Garden, said they would bear children and one day die, right? Well, outside the Garden lived the other people He had made that were told to go forth and multiply the Earth BEFORE He made Adam! These people were not of the Jewish lineage. If you backdate from today to Adam it has ONLY been 6000 years ago since Adam was alive. Science has certainly proven someone was here BEFORE then, right? The people that Cain and Seth married were the pre-humans that God had made until God got it just right and created a perfect man,Adam. These people are the ancestors of the black Africans, the Austrailian Aborigines and the North and South American Indians! Until the 20th century these people were still living in the stone age! They had not become civilized like the rest of the world that has decended from Adam. So there is your answer!

The Bible doesn't tell us who they married.

But some have said "Obviously, he married his sister (Gen. 20:12). In Gen. 5, Seth was born when Adam was 130 years old. Adam lived to be 930 years old and continued having sons and daughters. His children also married and procreated. Adam lived to see the children of his 9th generation. By the time the events of Gen. 4:16-17 took place, there was a growing population on the earth from the marriages between these sons and daughters. So, Cain built a "city." You don’t do that for just two people. The practice of marrying sisters was stopped in Lev. 18."

Married either their sisters or nieces... as others pointed out.

Genesis 4:17 says, "Cain lay with his wife, and she became pregnant and gave birth to Enoch." Who was his wife? It is implied in the biblical text that Cain married one of his sisters. Several facts lead us to this conclusion.
First, it is clear that Adam and Eve had a number of children. Genesis 5:4 says, "After Seth was born, Adam lived 800 years and had other sons and daughters." Since Adam and Eve were the first man and woman, and since God had commanded them (and their descendants) to be fruitful and multiply (Genesis 1:28), it seems reasonable to conclude that Cain married one of his many sisters. It is also possible that he married a niece or even a grandniece.
One must keep in mind that in the early years of the human race there were no genetic defects that had yet developed as a result of the fall of man. By the time of Abraham, God had not yet declared this kind of marriage to be contrary to His will (see Genesis 20:12). Laws governing incest apparently did not become enacted until the time of Moses (Lev 18:7-17; 20:11,12,14,17,20,21). Hence, there was no prohibition regarding marrying a sister (or niece or grandniece) in the days of Cain.

Sisters? Cousins? Nieces? We don't know for sure. Adam lived to be over 800 years old. Eve was about the same way. How many kids could Adam have fathered in that amount of time? Safe to say....A lot. At that time blood lines were pure. As such, inner family birth was not problematic, a bad thing, or detrimental to physical and mental health. .Cane and Seth lived for a long, long time too. It's not difficult to see where having a family with other family members such as cousins, nieces, etc. would be out of the question.

>>If adam and eve were the first man and woman on earth and gave birth to only three sons<<

You need to keep reading: "The days of Adam after he became the father of Seth were eight hundred years; and he had other sons and daughters." - Genesis 5:4

Cain and Seth married either their sisters or their nieces.

God made all the races on the 6th day, and rested on the 7th, and then the next day he created Adam so the others were here and he gave them Dominion over the fish and animals and then he needed a gardener to till the ground and then he made Adam. Go read the first page of Genesis and see were he created them both male and female and it was good on the 6th day. And Cain married his sister.

The Book of Jubilees
Chapter 4:1 And in the third week in the second jubilee she gave birth to Cain, and in the fourth she gave birth to Abel, and in the fifth she gave birth to her daughter Awan.

Verse 7
"...and Adam knew his wife again, and she bare him a son, and he called his name Seth; for he said 'GOD has 8 raised up a second seed unto us on the earth instead of Abel; for Cain slew him.' And in the sixth 9 week he begat his daughter Azura.
And Cain took Awan his sister to be his wife and she bare him Enoch at the close of the fourth jubilee.

Cain married a lady from the land of Nod, subhuman species, possibly neanderthal. None of their offspring survived the flood. Seth married both a cro-magnon female, or a sister, or niece.

Yes, taking the Bible literally has its problems, doesn't it? If a literal Adam and a literal Eve were the first humans, then either incest was not considered a sin until later, and there is no objective good and evil, or the bible fails to tell some very important details about humanity's origins and is imperfect.

"And it came to pass, when men began to multiply on the face of the earth, and daughters were born unto them, that the sons of God saw the daughters of men that they were fair; and they took them wives of all which they chose." Genesis 6

I always took this to mean that Adam and his descendants were the sons of God.

I just read hingles answer:
These people were also the ancestors of Cain's and Seth's children. Mothers also count as ancestors.
