Polar ice caps are melting in antarctica, if you wanna know exactly, more than 20% of it has melted away because of increasing temperatures. It's been estimated that at about 2040, all of the ice will be melted away. Polar bears can usually swim up to 50 miles on their own and are one of the strongest swimmers on the planet, but weird enough they are drowning. The ice is so thin, it can't support a normal polar bears' body weight when they try to get ontop of the ice. CO2 is the main cause of global warming and it gets trapped into the biosphere causing lots of our infrared rays to bounce back while normally it is supposed to go out into outer space while only a little bounces back, but lately, lots of it is trapped because the greenhouse gases which are caused by our emission of carbon. Consider the fact that most of the world is starting to use cars, esp china and all that pollution is being trapped in the biosphere. Anyways, And I don't really wanna get into a complete intense lecture, chemistry class is over for me rite now.

Other animals, you say, well i know lots of the coral reefs are dying out because the water's acidity is rising along with temperatures in sea level, which means the food cycle of marine animals are at stake, and the whole marine habitat.

Yea, just keep clicking the thumbs down on me, ppl. I didn't think there would be a wrong answer if what i said was the truth so keep doing what ever you want.

There are two main ways that global warming is killing these animals. The first I'm sure you've never heard of, as it is downright uncommon but sadly on the rise in nature (due to global warming). First, It's causing them to become too warm, their fur ignites and they explode in a burst of white fur and black skin. Polar bears have the thickest coat (and warmest) of any animal, rising temperatures, combined with direct sunlight, make for very favorable conditions for combustion. Combine that with the natural oils released by the bear (to keep his coat clean and absorbent), along with the fats and oils from the animals it eats, and you get an animal that is actually very vulnerable to fire. when polar bears explode like that their teeth and nails act as shrapnel, and can fly a dozen or so feet from the site of combustion. The Yukon Wildlife Concern have begun building stand-alone "caves" for these bears, in order to shelter them from the sun during the day. These "Bear Bombs", as they're commonly referred to, are an environmental hazard that has really only been realized within the past couple of years, as the lack of water glaciers is forcing them to migrate closer to people/closer to land. Their habitat is being destroyed via an increase in global temperature, which translates to a decrease in suitable habitat.

I hope this helps. Global Warming is a big issue that effects everybody, not just polar bears.

for the first time since the dinosaurs we are witness to a mass exstinction of the species ,both in Flora and fauna

the polar bears ,whose food comes from around the ice above and below it ,are simple loosing their habitat
the north pole unlike the South pole is ice floating in the sea (not ice on land)
and the Polar bears have less and less space

Polar Bears live on the Arctic Ice... & that ice is shrinking more every year... Their world is literally melting out from under them. Unless some way is found to save them, most polar bears will have drowned or starved to death by 2050.

I don't know if I believe in "global warming", but they say because the ice is melting that the polar bears stand on to stake out hunts of seals, they are or are going to starve.

i theory it replace into Al Gore, no longer bush who mentioned this. i do no longer think of the bush administration had something to do with killing polar bears via worldwide warming, and that i do in contrast to bush. Polar bears will hunt from land while the seals would desire to circulate there to undergo their youthful via fact of no ice.

The polar bears are drowning as the ice is melting, they can not swim far enough to the next ice sheet, and if they are able to it sometimes cracks or is not able to hold their weight so they end up drowning... that makes me so sad... :-(
