Grass is hierba. Césped means lawn, so quite similar but not the same ;-)
Pasto is only referred to cattle's food, I don't know the English word right now...
If you mean the other one, it depends a lot of the country, region, 'urban tribe' and age ;-)
In Spain it used to be 'yerba' in the old hippy days, sounding like 'hierba' but different spelling; maria or marijuana, or marihuana like in English (but pronounced without the 'h';-).
As for the other ones mentioned here above, some I don't know (see therefore how much it varies! for me, 'cosa' would mean only "thing"), others are also used for hash, so I'd use marihuana to be sure ;-)
