It sounds like an umblical hernia.
This is where the umbilical cord was when he was born, sometimes they develop a hernia (a full or partial hole into the adominal cavity) What you can feel is either fat or adominal tissue. This MUST be repaired when he gets desexed or else you run the risk of the hole getting bigger with the potential for adominal contence (eg intestines) to come through and twist.

ok it could be a hernia, however that would mostly occur there on female pups that have been spayed since thats around where they cut to spay her. My old dog had that same bump on her tummy in the same place and the vet told us it was a fatty deposit :) but she was little older. I would call the vet and ask first. I dont see the rush in taking her/him ASAP tell the vet when the pup was fixed and they should be able to tell you what it is and if you need to bring the puppy in. Hope that helps some.

this is what is called an umbilical hurnia. they are developed from the mother chewing too close to the abdomen on the puppy when she is trying to chew off the umbilical cord. this is quite common in most dog breeds. it may go away on its own but it can also develop an infection so your best bet would be to take him to the vet and have it checked out. i used to live on a dog breeding kennel and this is quite common in first time mothers and such. this is common but will still need to be checked out. if left untreated it may heal on its own but can also lead to massive infection.

It could be a herniated belly button. My moms dog has it and she is fine. If it feels soft and fatty its probably not a big deal. But it wouldn't hurt to get it checked out by the vet.

Probably a hernia. The vet can easily fix this, and usually will do so when you have the animal neutered.

It's probably a little hernia. I don't think its anything to worry about - take him to the vets and they can sort it.

You should take him to the vet...However my puppy had that and I took him in...It was belly button hernia and went away on his own...They said they are quite common....If they don't go away on their own they may need to be surgically removed
