Since Leviticus instructs you on how to treat your slaves, including when to nail your slave to the town wall with an awl through his ear, I'd like to know why anyone gives any merit that Leviticus's sick ideas.

Jesus preached love, not hatred, not condemnation, not discrimination, not intolerance or bigotry. Much of the Bible, however, particularly the Old Testament, teaches those exact things. Many Christians are not bigotted or intolerant, but unfortunately many more are, as the Bible teaches and tells them to be.
If you believe in a literal interpretation of the Bible, and believe that it is impossible for it to be in error (not even allowing for errors in translation or due to the writers' own prejudices), then there is no other conclusion but to condemn homosexuals along with many other classes of people.
In that sense at least, Christianity and Judaism are very sad and hateful religions. It is refreshing that many Christians are finally starting to accept homosexuality as a normal human experience, just as they did being Black, divorced, and/or female.
ADDED: Shame on so many people (not all) giving hateful, ignorant, and in some cases disgusting responses to your question (see the previous answer for example). Christian? In name, perhaps, but certainly not in nature or fact. I would much rather have a homosexual brother than one who hates his fellow man for what he is.

i does no longer learn the whole placed up. I actual have upload. So I boilded it each and each of ways right down to the final sentence. we are born on a sexual continuum between being gay and hetrosexual. i do no longer understand of somebody that has been valuable to selection that. persons that are born in the middle of that line, continuum, are bi and that they are waiting to settle on upon one or the different to a level. The scriptures agaisnt homosexuality is totally misunderstood. It became as quickly as written 2500 to 3000 years in the past and delt with exploitation of fellows in the direction of men. In a combat that ended with one many raping the different made the guy as a woman and in that society became as quickly as the extra serious element one would desire to do to a guy or woman becuase women have been assets like slaves or cows and issues.

Leviticus was, among other things, a book that gave instructions on how the Hebrews should live. The word "homosexuality" isn't mentioned at all. Commandments are about ACTIONS, not states of being.

If you asked about the Old Testament why would you accuse Paul of being against Homosexuals. That does not make sense. Obviously from Genesis to Malachi God created them "male and female" he created the woman to be the suitable helpmate for the man. Not another man. God not only condemned Homosexual acts in Leviticus but he condemned the entire city of "Sodom" for their "unnatural acts" of men with men.
The sin is ancient yes but never natural. Do not be deceived.
Do i believe that this is the worst sin ever? Heavens no! I will not condemn anyone. My lie or gossip is no better or worse than your sex outside of legitimate God-given heterosexual marriage.
God desires all our sins to be covered with the precious blood of Jesus who loved us so that He laid down His life for us.

All women are lesbian by nature? That's a new one.
Anyway, homosexual acts are prohibited in the New Testament as well. Why would you think that Paul was afraid of homosexuals?

Please read the entire chapter of Romans chapter 1. The apostle Paul wrote that all men had a knowledge of God, but turned their back on Him. So, the Lord turned them over to reprobate minds and they be began engaging in unnatural relationships with the opposite sex.

And it all boils down to authority.
If the Bible is a book of divine revelation, then homosexuality is a sin (disobedience to the will of God and therefore a denial of one's createdness and unhealthy as such).
If there is no God or revelation, then sin does not exist. Do whatever you want.
