thats cool. thats cool. um a drop in calories is okay. it'll help a little but you do need to be active. and its hard in the life style of the stop and go world. so the subs for running is bike rideing. is a big one. deffently gets the heart pumping. then theres those stair master thingys. and the big one. because it goes its the same as running just very less stressful on the body is swimming. swimming is actually a huge cardio exercise. but you have to also remember. you might be looking for that weight. which in a long period of time is not a bad idea. but remember muscle does weigh more then fat so don't beat yourself up when you go drasticly down to slowly moveing up after becomeing your ideal fitness. i hope you understand what i'm saying cause i just lost myself

Do you belong to a gym? I highly recommend the eliptical trainer. Especially the ones with the moving handles. You can really burn some good calories on those and also get your heart rate up.

You said you can't run. What about hiking, or going for brisk walks up hills?

What about jump roping?

Do you have "On Demand" on your cable tv? There are exercise channels on there that have free programs that you can work out to. Or you can buy a Tae Bo or kickboxing type DVD and do that at home.

Lastly, check out community centers and the Y. They usually have cardio classes, like step aerobics, kickboxing, some sort of dance/exercise work out. All of those are great ways to get your heart pumping!

Good luck! Sounds like you're on the right track!

You dont have to run. The best thing to do is just find some acitivity you enjoy so youll stick to it. If you want to lose 20 lbs your talking about a defecit of 70,000 calories. With a diet of 1700 calories its gonna take a long time to get there.
