I have a grey patch of hair on the back side of my head and i was wondering if anyone knew the cause for this. I also have smaller spots above both ears.
I am currently 14 but the patch was first noticed at 13.
I wear a hat most of the time so maybe the lack of sunlight would have an affect (or effect, not quite sure) on the color of my hair.
I am not looking for any good hair dyes or anything to cover it, just a reason for it.

diet, genetics, stress, or just fate.

Genetics foremost. What do your parents look like? Were they prematurely grey? Stress secondly, though you're so young I can't imagine its this. Also, since you wear a hat, perhaps the parts of the hair not protected by the hat have been exposed to some kind of chemical? Dyed hair has been known to turn grey from exposure to chlorine, so it's possible something like this has happened to your hair.

I started to have grey hair when i was 20, slowly it turned totally grey, nearly white at about 47 and was that way for 4 years until about 3 months ago when i moved to a house with well water ( no chlorine ) and a PH of about 7.5. since then my hair has turned to darker grey with dark brown mixed in. I think it was having no chlorine in the shower and drinking water and the calcium added to raise the PH. It looks like it did when i was 38

I think so Im 18 and I started getting grays when I was like 15 its also in the genes because my grandmother turned gray at a young age too. But some advice don't pluck them because 4 more will grow back in.

I really have no idea, and I'm just as interested as you. I would guess something going wrong with the pigment in your hair, but i really don't know. Ask a doctor!

they sound like your birth marks. when u have patches of grey hair its usually because of a birth mark like a mole... or someone in ur fam that u might not know about might have it

Genetics. I can't remember his name, but there was a guy on "Soap-Dish(?)" on "E" that had a gray spot. He was way too young for a gray spot, but there it was.

Relish it. Grab those experienced gals by what you can and yum!
