My family was planning to travel up to Solvang ( it's a Dutch Village with shops, restaurants, etc.) on Sunday, but unfortunately, they are predicting alot of rain all weekend. So, now we're looking for something "rain friendly" to do in So Cal. We live in Riverside County but don't mind driving to L.A, San Diego, etc.

Also, it should be something that takes most of the day, not just "a movie" or something like that. Any suggestions are appreciated! Thanks!

Why let the rain stop you? While it is more likely to rain in Solvang than in the Los Angeles basin, you would be indoors most of the time at Solvang. It's a nice place to visit, and if you think about it, if it does rain there won't be a big crowd to contend with. Take your umbrellas and enjoy your day.

There are lots of passions to follow in San Diego and this hotelbye is the place to begin discovers what San Diego must offer. In the San Diego vacation you will stage external of your rut and you will examine new actions while you are here and you could just see that exploring a brand new search can be an experience in itself. One of the places must see from San Diego is Balboa Park. That park has around a 1400 acre and here you'll find famous structures, numerous museums, gardens, and green space. The park was designed for the Panama California Exhibition of 1915-1916. The main structure is Spanish-Mexican fashion, minimal level buildings that blend in with the normal surroundings. One of the highlights of the park would be the Botanical Gardens and lily lake, the Museum of Man, the Museum of Natural History, the San Diego Museum of Art, and the famous San Diego Zoo. Even if you never go into a making the park is just a beautiful place.

I suggest going to the California Science Center. You can take the kids to the IMAX movie that's at the complex and visit many of the exhibits there. Or even the Natural History museum. You can wander the exhibits and stay dry out of the rain. San Bernardino also has a museum in Redlands off of Orange Tree Lane.
