The heat in a tandoori oven gets super hot, where your usual oven doesn't get to those temps!

It will not be in the true tandoori style, but the marinade should at least make it taste like it. The Tandoori oven is like 700 degrees.

It's probably because Tandoors reach very high temperatures up to 900°F most conventional ovens only go up to 500°F.
