ok, this is kinda random, but i'm just curious to know your opinions... when i'm gonna watch a movie or a game or whatever, i'll bring something to eat to my room, like a sandwich and chips, or some cookies or something. i keep floss in my room, so when i finish eating, especially if it's chips or something with sugar in it, i floss my teeth, swish some water around in my mouth for a minute or 2 and then chew sugarless gum until whatever i'm watching is over, which is when i then go brush my teeth. this could be anywhere from 30 min. to 2 hrs. depending on what it is. do you think this is ok? i'm kind of a fanatic about my teeth because of all the work i've had done to them. and i do have a normal routine of brushing when i wake up and before i go to sleep and flossing every night. Thanks for the feedback. : )

cheers,
Shauna!

that's cool you can brush your teeth & use dental floss daily
but do you brush your teeth / use dental floss PROPERLY?

just check the following site to confirm

brushing

flossing

you can floss after eating but don't brush immediately especially you ate sugary food. because brushing can speed up the acid etch of your teeth. Brush 2 hrs later after eating. during this period, you can chew sugarless gum for 20mins...20mins is enough to raise the pH level of saliva to normal but chewing for a long time it's not good for your temporomandibular joint.rinse with water is fine, but i'll use antiseptic mouthwash like listerine.fluoride contained toothpaste can prevent caries but can't inhibit dental plaque due to its low concentration.besides fluoridated toothpaste, you can obtain fluoride from natural food like seafood,fish..but over intake of fluoride can cause discoloration of teeh (fluorosis)

if you brush your teeth properly...twice a day is very very very good enough for your oral health
for flossing...do it before you sleep..once a day is enough.

last, regular dental check-up is needed like calculus removing

It's really great that you are so good about regularly brushing and flossing your teeth! One tidbit of info for you, an oral surgeon I spoke with a few years ago (top notch one) when I asked about flossing, and then brushing, he said no--you brush first, then floss. Reason? If you floss first, the extra gunk that is in your mouth before you brush, some of that can be pushed down below the gums without you realizing it. Therefore, the brushing is best first. Then you can sit in front of your tv, etc.,and floss to your heart's content. Then rinse. Good job! Take care.

i tell all my affected person to brush for a minimum of two minutes utilising a delicate toothbrush and fluoridated toothpaste ensuring to brush all surfaces. its stable to have a plan so which you do no longer omit any of your the teeth. factor the comb at a 40 5 degree perspective in the direction of the gum line comfortable 'jiggle' the toothbrush in small motions for related to the count form of ten focusing on approximately 2 the teeth at a time. for the occlusal surfaces or biting surfaces of the the teeth you may scrub them as you may no longer harm the gums there. for the interior surfaces on the front of the mouth carry the toothbrush downwards (for the decrease the teeth) and use the heal of the comb and vice versa for the top. after brushing rinse and then floss wrapping eh floss around the two middle arms till your thumbs aside and utilising your pointing arms and thumbs comfortable feed the floss between the the teeth making valuable to no longer harm the gums inter dentally. feed the floss good right down to the gum line and wipe the facets of the the teeth * your no longer in basic terms cleansing the area. stable success!

sure, you're being healthy with your teeth, more people should put more thought into them like you do. you might want to cut down on the time spent on them after eating snacks though. Think of it as a quick tune up instead of a deep clean... that can be done in morning or night.

Way to go!
Sounds like you are taking super care of your teeth.
There are so many benefits besides good oral health that you achieve by flossing. Clean gums can prevent a bacteria that causes heart disease from proliferating in your mouth and going into your bloodstream.
