I attended mortuary school and i worked in funeral homes so i feel i could handle that part, i am all about the protect and serve, i wanna help those that can't help themselves and don't have a voice. I was just wanting some info from any one if they knew the steps I shoukd take, and whats the best way to go about pursuing this.
Thanks, XOXO

It would help. But don't get into the crime scene work if you think it is like you see on tv. It is completely different. WAY different.

Your question is difficult to answer because of the wide range of employment you are interested in. If you want to obtain a law enforcement job, you could do so within a matter of months after completing a community college/law enforcement program.

If you want to work in a coroner's office, you probable could right now without any training (doing nasty work). It just depends on what your goals are.

The "CSI" lab people which I rely upon to testify in my criminal cases all have PhDs. If you are serious about it, I would recommend that you obtain your bachelors degree and then follow it up with either a Masters or Doctorate program.

You will need to enroll in a four year college and obtain your BA or BS. I would recommend that you obtain a doctorate degree thereafter to actually get a job in a CSI type field which would allow you to testify in court.

Best of luck!!

Yes, you will have to go thur regular police training. You have to know statues, law of the state where you will apply. You could take "criminal justice" course and most comm collages have that and you will get a assoc. degree when you finish, then a reg coll to get your b.a.
Most cities now require coll degree. During the police training you can ask for c.s.i. type of work but most special sections like that want people with at least a couple of years of street exp.
It is not all like c.s.i. shows on t.v. All that glamor is a lotof b.s.
If you go and complete your collage degree you might want to try for the F.B.I or C.I.A which are better paying jobs with much better benifits than a local agency.

First off don't confuse what is on tv with what is real.

A lot of what you see being done is done in reality by civilian personnel working at or for the police department. They do not have arrest powers. They just process the evidence, etc.

In most law enforcement jobs, yes you will go to the academy and be subject to all those requirements of policemen.

there is a big difference between a forensic scientist and a csi, try looking into being a medical examiner...that fits what you like to do :D

Anytime you are employed in that aspect of law enforcement, you will need to go to police training, yes.
