I do not get anything except for the music I download

here are some safe downloading tips on limewire:
1. NEVER or limit the downloads of .exe and .zip (or any other compressed files)
2. always check what you are downloading, it could say mp3 but is really disguised as a .exe
3. when downloading music, download ones with a correct time length and file size
4. always have your antispyware up to date (with resident protection)

I have limewire. Limewire, if you're using it to download multiple files will occupy quite a bit of memory and has to do alot of writing and reading on your hard drive at the same time. This can slow down your computer a lot.Personally I have never gotten a virus from downloading files from limewire although I know what to look for and avoid.

Limewire has a lot of adware and spyware. Also since you download files from other users those files could actually be infected with a virus of some sort so anything you download could infect your computer.

I generally steer clear of any software like Limewire as much as possible. See if it is possible to use BitTorrent to get the file(s) you need.

yes, we do....Limewire is file-sharing ( kinda like un-safe sex),you always have a chance of catching something. Look around for a program called Sand box or Sandboxle. Its free,it filters files before they reach you . If you do get a virus, you just empty that sandbox and you are right back to where you were before you caught it. Kinda cool, yes?

Fortunately, my anti virus caught it and quarantined it, but I did almost get one from a song I was downloading from there. Be careful.
