Trying to remove lettering from glass and plastic.

if it is a standard paper or clear sticker type label, best bet, according to my winery clients is to soak in water for extended period of time usually hours. then use one of those green nylon scrubby pads you would use for doing dishes and have at it.

if you are referring to bottles that are either etched or have ink applied directly to the bottle like silk sceen, you are out of luck. They don't come off.

If it's a plastic label try Googone available at Target and Walmart.

Vinegar and ice water. If you are impatient, lighter fluid or fingernail polish remover.

Ice water is the best if you want to save the label.

You could use B-brite, available at homebrewing supply stores, or a heat gun (on glass).
