I don’t believe that Peter would have been crucified if he told the truth as when Jesus was arrested the other apostles were with him and they were not arrested.♪

No ,he lied because he was scared.Later when he told the truth(in Acts) They threw him in jail and were going to lop his head off but an angel led him out.He was crucified upside down many years later.Jesus told him ,in the last chapter of John ,this would happen.God used Peter in a mighty way to spread the Gospel to the Jews as Paul did to the gentiles.

I don't thik Peter would have been crucified. The religious leaders were intent on capturing Jesus, not any of His followers. And if they tried, they wouldn't have been successful as God had a plan for Peter's life and would have protected him.

They say that Peter did eventually get crucified but it was some years after Jesus did.

I think God figured that it was in His best interest if Peter lived. Peter couldn't build Christ's church if he was dead so in that sense he was serving a better purpose by not telling the truth.

Nothing against the fine man Peter was but he denied God out of fear. Plain and simple. We are not perfect the Bible shows man's short comings. All have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God.
