Yup it sure is! You know them and what they are about and there is no confusion in the relationship. I am in that situation right now and I love it! We care for one another and although we are not seeing other people, we have sex with one another. Both of us have been hurt really bad in the past, so we have that understanding that we dont want to be in a relationship, but we love sex so much, we depend on one another for that need. It's better than sleeping around with whoever... We also go out and have fun like a real couple, we just dont dwell in the title...
Sex with a friend is always good... it's when one person wants to take it further and the other doesnt is when you will have a problem... Good luck!

You are asking us to predict the future with 100% accuracy and that is impossible. You already know that your friendship will undergo a drastic change after the two of you decide to start having sex (which is friends with benefits a little above a one nightstand kinda thing but not much better in ways) or become lovers'(which is hopefully how you start looking at it rather than the other way because that indicates more and not less.)
Bottom line: You go into this knowing the risk and what you get out of it, so that is between you two and I hope that both parties know the consequences for your actions and accept all responsiblities for whatever may come.

My first response is NO and then I realize that that is what I have done. My friend and I met last summer and had a thing for each other. We never did anything serious and then I went to China for two months and he moved to California. Somehow when I got back we were able to catch up and we ended up sleeping with each other. I am the only person I know that has had a good working real friendship with benefits on the side. Honestly this guy and I are best friends.
So yes but the onlt way that it has worked for us is with full communication and clearly drawn lines.

Oh, if you've had sex before, then why not? If not, then I would advise against it. Just remember that some people have trouble with the "friends with benefits" concept.
