Yes, they do. The three big mainstream religions, called the JCI faiths, introduced something completely new to the world - monotheism. For the vast majority of the time humans have walked the earth, people were polytheists and the very idea of there only being one deity was, frankly, laughable.
To me it still is!

I think it depends on who you ask. The main differences lie in the authority of certain individuals as pertains to the Holy Writings. For Jews, the Messiah promised in the Torah and the prophets' writings has not yet come. For Christians, the Messiah has come and is Jesus Christ. For Muslims, Jesus is a great prophet, but the true and final word of God has come in Arabic through Mohammed. There are definitely similarities in the three religions, but I think very few members of any group would admit that they worship the same God as those in the other two.

Rev Kip - The moon God, WTF? and you're a non secular chief? Explains plenty related to the mindset of extremely some Christians accessible... *Shakes Head* Do you no longer understand that Muslims (and intensely some Jews) hint the origins of Islam lower back to the 1st baby of Abraham, who God additionally reported would the be the daddy of a great people? So do you carry it against Jesus that his mom and dad weren't christian? considering Mohammed based the religion, of path he became born right into a different one. and those loopy reference you made related to the pagan daughters he allegedly worshiped, you may desire to earnings somewhat extra. Mohommed actual denouced all scripture related to them as "The Satanic Verses" and reported such ideals had no place in a monotheistic relgion. in any case, directly to answering the question. remember, I talk of the wider Christian mindset, and not the truly faith itself which preaches tolerance of others... Christianity has by no ability cherished different religions. to contain Judaism. all of us remember the Inquisition? Or the fact that Pope John Paul II admitted that the church bore some duty for the holocaust simply by fact of that is intolerence of Jews? Ever heard the age previous tale that we use the blood of a christian harmless to make our passover matzah? Christians prefer to piggy lower back off of our faith so as that they have got a love hate relationship with us, yet frequent can no longer denounce us simply by fact they did borrow our God and not any other way around. The right away out hate for Muslims comes from the fact that whilst Jews purely would desire to get with this methodology, Islam became formed after the death and hoopla of Jesus. we don't prefer to grandfather clause him in, yet they outright rejected him. Oh, that and Christians seem an intollerant lot as this is (plenty to Jesus's chagrin, i'm valuable).

This is very true :O) Bravo!! Finally someone with some intelligent questions!
The animosity from my guess, is because..even that all three of these religions share and believe in the same God, the God that Abraham declared was the one and only God. The religions were poisoned by conjecture. Meaning, the prophets and messengers and divine scriptures such as the bible, have been diluted and altered by man, leading many people into confusion about certain ways of life. For example, in the bible swine (pork) was first forbidden, as it was for Jews and Muslims, but then later it is reversed making exceptions, same with wine. This is a very simple example but my point is that, when you have too many editors of prophetic scriptures, it begets animosity of people who do not follow the editing? understand? It was and is normal, that we have differences, in order for us to constantly seek god, however, we should look upon what we share, which is most important, GOD. But many religious people have a hard time with this, because if you don't believe in the god as they do, they feel you are really not believing in the same god.

Yes, they all do worship the same god and that is why there's so much animosity. They're all so closely related. There's a lot of controversy between who's right and wrong since there's a fine line between the three religions. Think about Buddhists and Muslims....has there ever been any animosity? NO! because they have nothing to argue about!!! They're two different religions.

Isamics want to use different names. And they have the guy who marries 6 year olds and mates them when they're 9 and that's a bit of a problem. Not to mention all the quotes in their book that are hostile, like:
Qur’an:9:88 ,9:5 ,9:112 ,9:29 ,8:39 ,8:39 ,9:38 ,9:123 ,8:73 ,8:5 ,24:53 ,
4:74 ,4:75 ,4:76 ,4:77 ,4:78 ,4:84 ,4:94 ,4:95,4:100
And there there is:
[9:30] The Jews said, "Ezra is the son of GOD," while the Christians said, "Jesus is the son of GOD!" These are blasphemies uttered by their mouths. They thus match the blasphemies of those who have disbelieved in the past. GOD condemns them. They have surely deviated.
[4:157] And for claiming that they killed the Messiah, Jesus, son of Mary, the messenger of GOD. In fact, they never killed him, they never crucified him - they were made to think that they did. All factions who are disputing in this matter are full of doubt concerning this issue. They possess no knowledge; they only conjecture. For certain, they never killed him.
This TOTALY goes against the Christian View and WE HAVE NOTHING IN OUR BOOK that goes against their views BY NAME!
So don't put us in the same league with them.
The Jews say we don't accept Jesus' credentials as the Messiah, we can live with that. To be TOLD we are BLAPHEMOUS for viewing Jesus that way is NOT tolerable.
Jews NO LONGER say that, only the Phareisees in Jesus time took that view. Today's Jews tolerate us and we tolerate them.
They don't say we are wrong or blaphemous for saying what we say about Jesus, they JUST say they don't agree. That is cool.
Islam says we are EVIL for our view, that is NOT cool.

The God of Abraham said "you shall have no other gods before me." Exodus 20:3
The concept of One God is the base of these religions and its the ONLY common ground which can unite them. But the problem is ...Politics..... making Human Blood cheaper than the OIL. These people are not Christians, Jews or Muslims ... they are cannibals, wolves or some other beasts in form of humans.

It is not true.Jews and Christians worship the God of Abraham.Christians believe God is one in essence but three in purpose.1x1x1=1 God not 1+1+1= 3 gods.Jews believe in the same God but only one essence.Muslims changed the scripture to say they come from Ishmael and that all Isaac's promises really were for him. They worship Allah.Allah ,or El Allah was the Moon God.Muhammed promoted him to Almighty status and there you have it.Jews and Christians worship the Great "I AM" Jehovah(Yahveh) and Muslims ...El Allah with a crescent moon on their flag.

thats not the problem, exactly. Christians believe in Jesus and God, obviously. Jews don't believe in Jesus.. they dont believe God has sent the Messiah yet. And i have no idea what Muslims believe so i cant help there. But Jewish and Christian beliefs, although they both believe in God, are not at all the same.
Plus, Ishmael and Isaac have differences.. it's a long story.. which can be found in the Bible.. =]

This is true. The animosity is played out in history. For Islam is starts with Abraham' sons. Between Jews and Christians its the identity of a man named Jesus of Nazareth.

That is actually completely untrue. While the coming of Christ can clearly be seen it the prophecies of the Messiah throughout the Torah, Islam is something altogether different. It is impossible to find conformity between the often world-controlling or violent mandates of Islam to every muslim (though only those who can read and understand arcaic arabic are able to read the Koran), and the Judeo-Christian ethic.
