Charger SRT8 = 6.1L Hemi with 425HP
R/T= 5.7L Hemi with 340HP with the MDS - Multi-Displacement System (shuts down from 8 cylinders to 4 cylinders).
Both Hemi's are great motors....and have experience with both but in a Dodge Magnum
Charger SXT - 3.5L highout put V6 with 250HP.
Decent motor, but not great power to push a +4000lb Charger around. It gets good gas mileage compared to the 6.1L but is comparable to the 5.7L Hemi.

The srt8 has a 6.1L 425hp V8. The sxt is available only with the 3.5L 255hp V6. Do you like horsepower? Based on these numbers which one would you say is the best engine.

A 68 to 70 Charger has the better engine. Why?? Because it's not in some super ugly lump excuse for a car.

Sportiness. As you go from SE, SXT, R/T, SRT8, you get more and more horsepower and torque. This involves the number of cylinders and liters in each cylinder but that's technical stuff. SE - 190hp SXT - 250hp R/T - 350hp SRT - 425hp You also get improvements in suspension and handling. That means you can control your car better in turns, not feel as much of the bumps, and not feel your body being thrown around during sharp fast turns.

Better for what? eating gas, then get the SRT8.... it has the big 425 HP 6.1 litre hemi..... all these horsepower for a country that has speed limits of 55 and 65mph...... I know it is strange...... my vehicle has 325 HP and I cruise around doing 40mph.... oh well thats life... I guess the sound and power of the engine is great, even if we cant use 100% of it. :)
