You may actually be washing your hair too frequently. Your scalp produces oil which keeps the skin and hair most. This is totally natural so it doesn't mean you're gross or disgusting if you hair feels a little greasy after several hours. If you live in a dry climate a good home remedy is to pour a palm full of olive oil into your hair, rub it in really good and then wrap your hair and scalp with plastic wrap for about an hour. When the hour is up, wash your hair with a mild shampoo (Head & Shoulders might do you some good or Neutrogena T-Gel if you want to spend the extra money).

rinse with vinager. It may burn the first few times from where you have scratch yourself but it will help balance the ph in your skin.
make sure you rinse all the shampoo out of your hair.
Look at the drug store for a flat brush with the bristles on one side and a thing to hold your fingers on the other side. Looks like a brush with no handle. us it to scrub your scalp with the shampoo then condition, rinse with vinigar and then squeeze all the water out of your hair.
Use the blow dryer as little as possible. It can dry out your scalp and make more flakes.
Only use a little moose, to much will flake like dandruff.
do not wash your hair every day, that removes to much of your scalps oils, causing flaking.
Use a pine tar soap if head and shoulders will not work.

Use anti dandruff shampoo such as Head & Shoulders (I used it and it worked.) If it does not go away after few days you may need something stronger, a doctor can prescribe youe special shampoo that is avaialble with prescription only but it will definitely help.

Have you begun using a new shampoo or conditioner, bleached or dyed your hair, or could it be any other allergy type reaction?
If it's just a case of dandruff, my Mom used to comb Listerine into my Dad's hair and then rub it in before he showered and washed his hair. It usually got rid of his dandruff.

Try Neutrogena T Gel. It is the only shampoo that works. If you still have a problem, see a dermatologist.

dont shampoo TOO much you could be overdrying your scalp and make sure you use a good conditioner and get it all out. I would suggest a dandruff conditioner and shampoo---also winter dries your skin out so keep that in mind too
