Tonight I had this brilliant idea while showering. My friend wrote on my hand today with Sharpie, and it wasn't coming off, so I used my ex-foliating stone bar and scrubbed the backs of my hands. I had to get it off because I am working at a concession stand in the morning and it wasn't the best thing to be displaying in public.

Now, I am left with two very bright red patches on the backs of my hands that hurt like no other. I put some Neosporian on them and it's helped with the pain a little bit. Is there anything I can do to clear them up quicker? I should keep them uncovered, right?

Neosporin is definitely good. You could also use Aloe Vera.

Sounds like you actually burned yourself with the friction from the exfoliating bar. (think "rug-burn") You should keep them covered and keep using Neosporin on them to keep it from getting infected. Burns are very susceptible to infection...

An anti-histamine cream like Preparation H will help with the inflammation. An anti-histamine or ibuprofen pill taken orally will also help with the inflammation.

If the pain is still too much for you, buy a spray-on topical analgesic. These can be found at any store that sells medicines and it will numb the painful areas for a while.

The best thing for burns is Aloe Vera but not that gel crud they sell in stores. Get an actual Aloe Vera plant and water it every few weeks or so to take care of it. Then when you injure yourself you simply cut off a piece of the plant, peel the 'skin' off of it, and apply it directly to the injury. Find some way to hold it in place until the piece of Aloe dries out, and then throw it away.

try A and D ointment for diaper rash! It works. May sting for a second but it will relieve the throbbing pain.

Peroxide should start the clogging process immediately. Yes leave it uncovered.
